Perfect...just prefect!

Ok, so this blasted blog thing has really about gotten the best of me! I can't believe the amount of frustration and fear that has presented itself to me while in the thinking phases. Over a nice plate of sushi I realized that behind that fear was a powerful P word...Perfectionism.  Blast it all!!
No I was not emotional eating but truley hungry for those of you out there asking the question.

As I pondered how perfectionism was paralyzing me and keepeing me from taking action, I decided to lace up the runners and hit the hills. This action freed up some of the crunchiness in my brain and allowed for creative energy to start flowing. Wow it felt great!

One problem...the sweet video I made to post instead of all this writing won't actually post. I keep telling myself it's all perfect adn that maybe my typing skilz needed some dusting off. However, I might actually take up swearing now and will have to do some kind of emotional work for that.

So, to assist with perfectionism keeping us paralyzed I would like to propose a little tool I like to call...Fire -Aim- Ready.   Yes, I said that correctly.  Many of us want all our A's to follow B and onto C and so forth. We may even get down to AA, BB and so on.  When we do this, we Never take action on what we say we want to do.
So, Fire! Take Action!
Then, see where it hit the target, make corrections (aim), get ready and Fire again. This little tool will assit you in overcoming Perfectionistic tenencies and get you learning as you move forward.  No, it's not always a comfortable thing but comfort is over rated...right?!

As for me, I took action, although dragging my feet before I did, made a cool video (maybe you'll see it someday), finally got this typed, put soap in my mouth, and am not going to read tihs and trust it will be perfect for what you need to hear and learn.

Until next time...Go Be Great!!

Confessions of a Cardio Queen

You know who I am at the gym. I’m always in a class (or two), on the treadmill, or the Elliptical. The Gym staff knows more about me than my own mother, and they get to see me more than my kids. I’m usually on that desperate journey for the body my peers or the other cardio court thinks I should have.  But whether you use your cardio time to burn calories and lose weight, lower your stress level after a long day at the office, or build a circulatory system Jillian Michaels would be proud of there are a few things you should think about before you hit the Dreadmill.
Intensity trumps time every…..time.
If you don’t enjoy it you won’t do it.
And getting started is 99% of the battle.
ARE YOU STARTED YET?
That’s awesome!!! Try this workout on for size.
